A Classical Education

In 2020, I decided that I wanted to give myself a classical education. I had this feeling that a modern education was only enough education to get someone a modern job. Not an education for a person and their life as a whole. I wanted more. to know more. To understand more, on a deeper level. One way of doing this, is by reading classical literature. I wondered where that all began, and I determined that to be, in my opinion, The Iliad. So on February 18th, 2020, I ordered The Iliad, The Odyssey, Ovid’s Metamorphoses, and Persian Fire by Tom Holland. I figured a handful of classic texts and a pop history book by one of my favorite historians would be a good place to start.
